Corrugated boxes are a part of the packaging industry. They are much thicker compared to a single sheet of cardboard. The problem with cardboard is that there is always a risk of the safety of the product. Corrugated boxes contain a few layers of material compared to cardboard boxes which have a single layer. There are three layers of material inside the corrugated box. These layers are an inside liner, a medium, and an outside liner. The medium is present between the inside and outside liner. Making corrugated boxes

To understand what a corrugated box is, you need to understand how they are made. Corrugated boxes are made from trees or recycled corrugated boxes with a recovery rate of 96%. In other words, a corrugated box can be seen as a recovered packaging material.

During the recycling process of corrugated boxes, the old containers are sorted and compacted for efficient storage. They are then converted into bales. The bales are taken to the paper mill, where they are further broken down. Following this, the corrugated gets reinserted into a pulper. In the pulper, the material undergoes agitation and forms a pulp of water and fibre. The contaminants are subjected to removal, and the remaining solution of fibre is poured onto a screen that allows the water to drain. This forms a continuous fibre mat. The mat is subjected to further pressing to remove water.

The fibre is then passed through a dryer. The bottom and top of the fibre are in contact with the hot surface of the drying cylinder. This removes any moisture that remains in the paper. Once all the moisture has been taken off, the fibre is then rolled into a large pool. It is then slit and converted into smaller rolls. These corrugated paper rolls are transported to the corrugator industries, where these are then converted to corrugated packaging material.

Corrugated boxes ensure safe transportation of your product, but they are also 96% recyclable, making them much more favourable than cardboard boxes.
