Want to know what are the things to do in Cancun Mexico? Ranging from breathtaking beaches to impressive ruins of the Mayan civilization, Cancun offers you a lifetime experience with friends and family. Discover the main tourist attractions in Cancun here in our article.

    Getting to know Chichen Itza

The tour to Chichen-Itza cannot be left out of the list of things to do in Cancun. This archaeological site will take you directly to the ancient times between the centuries 1000 BC and 900 AD of the Mayan civilization. It is an unforgettable tour, as the energy of the place is merely inexplicable. The main attraction is the Kukulcan pyramid. Visiting hours are between 9 am and 5 pm. The entrance to the park is paid, but it is a low price. For us to get there, the best option is to rent a car. It is one of the main tourist spots in Cancun.

    Tulum ruins

Tulum is another archaeological site near Cancun, where you can visit ruins of the Mayan civilization. There was a port city on the site that was an important commercial hub at the time. The view you will have of the sea is chilling. From Cancun to Tulum, it is a 2 to 3-hour drive, which will be worth it when you arrive at your destination since the landscape is breathtaking. The region is small, but you can enjoy eating in one of the delicious restaurants and bars in the surroundings.

    Playa Del Carmen

Close to the city of Cancun, you will find the famous Playa del Carmen, one of the most popular destinations for tourists due to the breathtaking scenery and inexplicable tranquillity of the place. Like Cancun, Playa del Carmen is a popular destination, but with a more natural and intimate footprint compared to its neighbour. There you can walk peacefully on the beach, swim in the peaceful green sea, dive and enjoy the scenery, which is simply the heart of Playa del Carmen. It is precisely there that most of the city’s restaurants, bars and shops are located.

    Playa Delfines

Long white-sand beach featuring shallow waters, this place is famous for the restaurants and dolphin sightings. In all seasons, mammals appear to grace the tourists. You can see them from the sand and also swim with these friendly animals. With calm and crystal clear waters, it is the perfect place to enjoy the sun and even learn to surf. As it is a little far from the big hotels, Playa Delfines ends up being a little more peaceful. There you will also find public restrooms and umbrellas. It is one of the best beaches in Cancun. So, if you are thinking about what to do in Cancun, don’t forget to visit this place.

    Caves and Cenotes

For nature lovers, this tour will be paradise. The crystal-clear caves that were used by the Maya in their rituals carry renewing energy. There you will feel close to the culture and beliefs of these people. There are several Cenotes in the Cancun region, some of which have lakes with warm waters, perfect for relaxing. The most famous are Dos Ojos, Casa Cenote, Gran Cenote, etc.

    Coba pyramid

Like Tulum and Chichen Itza, Coba pyramid is one of the memories of the Mayan civilization. The city was abandoned for many years. The ruins are mostly bush-covered; giving a more rustic and old look to the place. The main attraction of the ancient Mayan city is the Nohoch Mull pyramid, which is 42 meters high. However, there are other remnants of impressive ruins scattered around the site that you can access by bike, walking or even taxi.
