Does the space of your home affect a Bengal cat’s quality of life?

One of the very common questions that people keep on asking is whether they have sufficient space at home to keep their Bengal cats.  Certain aspiring owners are conscious of this fact and they also consider this as an important thing before buying a Bengal cat. So the answer is-NO. Your space of the house will never affect the quality of the life of your pet. It all depends on how you nurture and train them. Owning a pet is almost like nurturing your own kid. A Bengal can stay happy in any kind of home provided that the owners are dedicated to their pets. So your home space needs to be rightly utilized. Before you buy Bengal kitten, here mentioned are few important things regarding home space that you have to keep in mind.

You need to keep sufficient space for your cat to mark their territory. Bengal cats are highly conscious about their territory. In case if they feel unsecured, they might urinate out of the box or in inappropriate spaces. You can do this ideally by having cat-trees. These trees offer places for your pet to rub their cheeks and scratch their claws. However, if your house does not have enough room to plant these trees, you can go for scent soakers or scratching posts. You can keep these scent soakers in places where your cats spend a considerable amount of time. Or it can be placed near pathways or entryways. The more you place these cat trees or scent soakers, they’ll feel more secured.

Secondly, you can create a high spot in your house because Bengal cats have the habit of climbing high sports like trees. So they usually love high spots for resting and playing. You can go for the existing cabinets at your home or you can create pathways for your cats through cat trees or shelves. Also, if you do not want to use your house furniture or cabinets, make sure that you create an alternative space for them. You can do this by keeping a scent soaker near window perches. Your cats also need to bask in sun and therefore, it’s important to have areas at home where they can get sufficient sunlight. The main characteristic feature of the Jungle Beauty Bengals is their soaring energy levels. They need room to play around alone or with their mates (another cat or dog sharing similar energy levels). In other words, this particular breed needs to expel its energy. You can do this by incorporating several playing ideas. In short, it is not the size of your room but the way in which you’re bringing up your pet. It is the routine that determines their quality of life. There are three important things that decide their happiness levels- creating a space with territory markers like cat trees or scent soakers, creating high spots via cat shelves or trees, and following a regular exercise regimen personalized according to your cat’s needs.
