    How Rehab Treatment stops Addiction?

    Rehab therapy is an extensive treatment that helps a person get out of his addiction phase. It generally, is of two types; inpatient and outpatient.

    Where an outpatient facility allows you to continue your daily activities while on rehab, an inpatient requires you to stay at their centers or a sober living facilities until you recover.

    An inpatient rehab is typically a 90 days process and involves the following approaches to stop the addiction:

    • Consultation:

    A brief consultation with the doctor, often through phone or meeting is done before joining a rehab program. This is done to see what program do you fit in and what will be the treatment plan for you.

    • Type of drugs you are addicted to.
    • Drugs and alcohol level of consumption.
    • Your medical history.
    • Details of your family and social life.

    The number one step in rehab procedure is the detoxification. It involves removing the traces of drugs from your body while administrating medications that ease the withdrawal symptoms. Once the detoxification process is completed, you enter into the daily treatment program.

    • The Daily Treatment Program:

    A typical day at rehab center consist of meetings with the doctors, group sessions, individual therapies, exercises and sober activities. During your therapy, you are needed to abide the rules and regulations set forth by the rehab committee.

    1. Individual therapy:

    Includes testing and treating an individual.

    1. Group sessions:

    Involves counseling and coordinating with other people seeking help.

    1. Physical and mental exercises:

    Like aerobics, yoga and reflecting on one’s success.

    1. Sober activities at weekend:

    Like meeting family members and going to a beach.

    • Rules:

    You have to follow certain rules while on rehab to ensure the success of your treatment which are:

    • No intake of any drugs or alcohol even in minor doses.
    • Appropriate conduct with staff and other patients.
    • No threats or acts of any sort of violence.
    • Staying honest with the doctor.
    • Not leaving the center without permission.
    • Staying complaint with all the testing procedures.
    • Not missing a single therapy session.
    • Rewards:

    Withdrawing from an additive drug is not easy, that is why many rehab centers offer rewards to boost morale of their clients to make sure they complete their treatment successfully.
